Teddy bears are great comforting stuffed
toys for babies and young children. Some
adults also like to collect them. The actual
name Teddy Bear dates back to 1902 when the
then American President Theodore Roosevelt
was on a hunting trip where a bear was tied
to a tree to allow the president to shot it,
although he refused to.
In 1903 Steiff
produced a stuffed bear and now
Steiff Bears
are one of the leading sellers of stuffed
bears and animals around the world.
In
1904 Steiff invented the now famous "button
in ear" in an attempt to stop fake Steiff
Bears being sold.
